NBA Preseason/Monday's Picks

The defending Western Conference champion Phoenix Suns open up their preseason tonight as they travel to Sacramento to face the Kings. Game time is 10:00 pm at Golden 1 Center.

The Suns reached the postseason for the first time since 2009-10 and seemed on the cusp of claiming the franchise’s first championship when they jumped out to a 2-0 lead on the Bucks in the NBA Finals only to come up short in the end. The preseason will likely be focused on working in new additions such as JaVale McGee, Elfrid Payton and Landry Shamet.

The playoff drought for the Kings continued last year following a 31-41 campaign. Sacramento coach Luke Walton is hoping to get the team to its first postseason since 2005-06 behind a young roster led by PG De’Aaron Fox and SG Tyrese Haliburton.
