Navy Midshipmen at Notre Dame Fighting Irish Betting Preview
03 November 2021

The College Football Playoff rankings are now out, and that will increase the excitement and drama throughout the sport of college football. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish host the Navy Midshipmen on Saturday afternoon, and this is an important game for the home team.
Navy enters this game with an overall record of just 2-6, but the Midshipmen were able to pick up a win in their most recent game. Life in the American Athletic Conference has been rough on Navy, but things won’t get any easier in this one.
Notre Dame brings a 7-1 record into Week 10, but the Fighting Irish continue to try and make up for that lone loss. There is still a chance to reach the College Football Playoff, but Notre Dame has to be perfect from here on out.
The Fighting Irish are 20.5-point favorites over the Midshipmen on Saturday afternoon at Notre Dame Stadium.
Navy is Going to Run
The Navy Midshipmen have a style of play that is not very common in college football as they do nearly all of their damage on the ground. Navy is averaging 223 rushing yards per game, and this team won’t throw many passes on Saturday.
Scoring points has been the biggest issue for Navy as they are averaging just 18 points per game. Running back Isaac Ruoss leads the way with 437 rushing yards, and he will need to break off some big runs in this game.
The defense has been underrated at times this season, but the numbers don’t look great. Navy is giving up 30 points per game, but they were able to slow down an explosive Cincinnati team just two games ago.
Fighting Irish Scoring Some Points
Notre Dame got off to a slow start on offense this season, and they continue to shuffle quarterbacks, but this team is scoring some points. The Fighting Irish are now averaging 32 points per game, and they have found a rushing attack.
Running back Kyren Williams is one of the top players in the country, and he leads the team with 707 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. Tight end Michael Mayer is also a weapon on offense as he has 465 receiving yards.
The Notre Dame defense has been tested at times, and that unit gave up 34 points a week ago. Notre Dame will have to find a way to stop the run if they want to win this game.
Notre Dame Destroys Navy
Navy does some things that can cause trouble for Notre Dame, but there is a clear disparity in talent for this matchup. The Midshipmen just don’t score enough points to be a true threat to the Fighting Irish.
Notre Dame has played well since the lone loss to Cincinnati, and this is a game that could get out of hand in a hurry. The Fighting Irish will put on a show in front of the home crowd in rolling to another win.
Bet the Notre Dame Fighting Irish -20.5 as they roll to a blowout win over the Navy Midshipmen.
