MLB Spring Training Picks

The good feelings surrounding the NY Mets heading into the 2022 season took a turn southward yesterday with reports that ace Jacob deGrom felt tightness in his shoulder.

deGrom is set to undergo an MRI and could possibly leave manager Buck Showalter without his opening-day starter just a week before the season begins. The news comes after a season in which deGrom missed the entire second half with an elbow injury.

The Mets are scheduled to continue their spring training today as they face the St. Louis Cardinals. First pitch is 1:05 pm at Roger Dean Stadium.

Both teams come in with 6-5 records in the Grapefruit League following losses yesterday. New York dropped a 7-3 decision to Washington, while St. Louis fell to Miami, 7-4.
