MLB Spring Training Picks

It may only be spring training, but giving up 29 runs is never a good thing. That’s exactly what the Washington Nationals did yesterday in a 29-8 rout at the hands of the St. Louis Cardinals.

After unloading a number of stars last year, including Max Scherzer, Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber, hopes are not exactly high heading into the 2022 regular season. With yesterday’s loss dropping Washington’s spring record to a Grapefruit League-worst 1-10, that continues to be the case.

Nats’ manager Davey Martinez will try to turn things around today as Washington faces the NY Mets, who dropped to 6-4 following last night’s 5-3 loss to the Astros in extra innings. Dunkel has the Nats favored in this one with a rating of 14.113 compared to the New York’s rating of 13.822. Dunkel projects the run total to be at 8.
