MLB All-Star Game Preview

13 July 2021

The 2021 MLB All-Star Game is set for Tuesday night, and the game’s brightest stars are set to take the field in Denver, Colorado. There will be some added hype and excitement for this game as the 2020 All-Star Game was canceled due to COVID-19.

The American League will be managed by Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash, and he will have a full complement of talent on his roster. The AL currently has a seven-game winning streak in this event, including a 4-3 victory back in 2019.

Dave Roberts of the Los Angeles Dodgers will manage the NL team, and he will be surrounded by several familiar faces. The National League wants to end the losing streak at seven games and pick up a win at Coors Field.

The National League is the slight betting favorite at -111 for this matchup with the American League.

Ohtani Story For AL

The best story in baseball right now is Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels, and he will be on the mound to start the game for the AL. Ohtani is not the best pitcher in the American League, but he is the best hitter on the planet.

The American League lineup is filled with star players from the AL East, but that also leaves out some other top players from the rest of the league. This AL lineup will need to manufacture some runs as opposed to do it with power.

It’s unclear who will take the mound after Ohtani, but Gerrit Cole and Nathan Eovaldi will be two of the top options. The AL does have some solid bullpen arms, but getting an early lead will be a big key.

NL Loaded With Power

The National League lineup is loaded with some power, and it’s hard to see that team getting shut down on Tuesday night. Fernando Tatis Jr. starts things off, and he has blasted 28 home runs this season.

While the American League is without some of its biggest stars, the National League has elite talent waiting on the bench. Kris Bryant of the Cubs will be entering the game at some point, and Manny Machado and Juan Soto will get the call as well.

Max Scherzer starts for the NL, and this will be his fourth time starting the All-Star Game. Scherzer has plenty of experience dominating the AL, and this could be a similar performance.

National League Wins in Slugfest

Typically, pitchers tend to dominate the All-Star Game, and that is the way that baseball has been trending in recent years. This game shouldn’t go that direction as Coors Field is one of the best hitting parks in baseball.

The National League roster is simply loaded with power, and it’s hard to see the American League finding a way to shut them down. Ohtani will get the AL off to a good start, but the National League is going to put up some runs.

This is going to be a great night for baseball fans, and the future of the league will be on full display. This will also be a night that a long losing streak comes to an end as the National League will pick up the win.

Bet the National League to beat the American League on Tuesday night in a game that goes over the 12 run betting line.
