Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers Betting Preview

31 December 2022 By Ayden Fahlstrom

There are some big NFL games on the schedule in Week 17, and that includes a big rivalry between NFC North opponents. The Green Bay Packers host the Minnesota Vikings, and this is an important game for both teams.

The Minnesota Vikings come into this game having already won the NFC North Division, and they are an impressive 12-3 on the year. Minnesota has played in a ton of tight games all season long, and they have usually found a way to win.

Green Bay is trying to sneak into the postseason in the NFC after getting off to a slow start. The Packers have won three straight games, and they have improved to 7-8 on the year because of that run.

The Packers are 3.5-point betting favorites on Saturday afternoon against the Minnesota Vikings.

Vikings Want to Score

The Minnesota Vikings come into Week 17 scoring over 25 points per game, and they do most of that damage through the air. Wide receiver Justin Jefferson is closing in on 2,000 receiving yards, and the Vikings are averaging 281 passing yards per game.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins will have to find a way to take care of the ball in this game, as he has thrown 11 interceptions this season. The Vikings do have some terrific running backs, but they just haven’t been able to rack up a ton of yards on the ground.

Minnesota is allowing nearly 25 points per game as well, but that unit spends a lot of time on the field. Slowing down Aaron Rodgers will be a goal in this game.

Packers Must Defend

The Green Bay Packers are allowing over 22 points per game this season, and this unit is going to have to set the tone. Green Bay could not slow down Minnesota in the first meeting of the season, and that’s going to be a big key in this game.

The Packers have found plenty of balance on offense this season, but Aaron Rodgers is averaging just 235 passing yards per game. Rodgers has started to turn things on of late, but the Packers need their star QB to take control of this game.

Green Bay is going to try and slow down the tempo in this game and then allow Aaron Rodgers to step up and make some big plays.

Vikings Pull Off Upset Of Packers

The Minnesota Vikings have been a complete mystery this season, but they are one of the better teams in the league when playing well. Justin Jefferson is a serious problem for the Green Bay secondary, and the Packers will struggle to get stops.

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay offense have been playing well of late, but they just don’t have enough firepower to keep up with the Vikings. This game is going to be tight, but the Packers just won’t be able to find enough offense to pull off a fourth straight win.

Bet the Minnesota Vikings moneyline as they are able to go on the road and pick up an impressive upset win over the Green Bay Packers.
