Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears Betting Preview

20 December 2021

>

Monday, December 20th Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears

Week 15 of the NFL season has seen a number of cancellations or postponements, but the original Monday Night Football Game remains unchanged. The Chicago Bears host the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night in the latest version of one of the best rivalries in the NFL.

Minnesota comes into Monday night with a record of 6-7, and they are still in the playoff race in the NFC at this time. The Vikings have gone just 1-2 in their last three games, but they have done enough to remain relevant in the NFC Playoff standings.

Chicago enters Week 15 with a record of 4-9, and the Bears are going to be one of the first teams eliminated from playoff contention. The Bears entered this season with a ton of question marks, and injuries have kept them from really becoming a threat in the NFC North Division.

The Minnesota Vikings are 3.5-point road favorites over the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football.

Minnesota Can Score When Clicking

The Minnesota Vikings come into this week averaging 26.5 points per game, but this offense has the ability to be explosive at times. Running back Dalvin Cook is nearing 1,000 rushing yards on the season, and he has done that while missing some time due to injury.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins has thrown 27 touchdowns this season, and he has done a great job of taking care of the ball. Justin Jefferson and Adam Theilen give Cousins a terrific 1-2 punch at the wide receiver position, and they should have a big game on Monday.

Minnesota is giving up more than 25 points per game, but that shouldn’t be a major concern on Monday night against a bad Bears offense.

Defense is Depleted For Bears

The defense of the Chicago Bears have kept them relevant all season long, but that unit is dealing with a ton of injuries. Chicago is allowing 25.5 points per game, but they just don’t have the weapons to keep up in this game.

Rookie quarterback Justin Fields is back under center for the Bears, and he has shown glimpses of stardom this season. Fields has thrown ten interceptions to just six touchdowns this season, and taking care of the ball has been a major issue.

Chicago is scoring less than 18 points per game, and it’s going to be hard for them to score enough points to keep up with the Vikings on Monday Night Football.

Vikings Beat Up on the Bears

The Chicago Bears have a defense that can cause the Minnesota Vikings some problems, but they just aren’t healthy enough at this time. The same can be said for the offense of Chicago, and it’s hard to see the Bears putting up much of a fight in this game.

Things have not gone well for the Vikings at times during the 2021 season, but Minnesota is still playing for a spot in the playoffs due to their recent resurgence. It’s going to take an impressive offensive performance for the Vikings to come through in this game, but Minnesota should hit on some big plays in this one.

Chicago has dominated this rivalry in recent years, but Minnesota will get some revenge this time around. Bet the Minnesota Vikings -3.5 as they pick up an easy victory over the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on Monday night.
