Minnesota Timberwolves at Los Angeles Lakers Betting Preview
12 November 2021

>— Friday, November 12th Minnesota Timberwolves @ Los Angeles Lakers
The Minnesota Timberwolves have lost six straight games and now face the Lakers. If they want to get their season back on track, they'll need a win here. Unfortunately for them, they're facing one of the best teams in the Western Conference.
For the Timberwolves, this game will be one of their biggest of the season. The question is, can they win this one?
The Los Angeles Lakers are in need of a win as well, even though they're on a two-game win streak. Right now, they find themselves seventh in the Western Conference with a record of 7-5. As they prepare to take on the Timberwolves, they could find themselves without four players.
Can the Lakers overcome their injuries and win a game at home against the Timberwolves?
Minnesota Timberwolves can't fall to seven straight losses
The Timberwolves started the season off strong but have since been terrible. Six losses later, the Timberwolves now have one of the worst offenses in the NBA.
Their defense isn't much better either, allowing 109.60 points per game. Facing the Lakers will be incredibly tough for them, especially with Russell Westbrook in the lineup.
If the Timberwolves defense can't stop the Lakers' offense, they'll be in serious trouble. Still, they've been able to keep a lot of their games very close.
The margin in this game is rather small, though, so it won't be easy for Minnesota to keep it close. However, they'll get some help considering all of the injuries to the Lakers lineup. Something that will help the spread for sure.
Can the Lakers get a win at home without Anthony Davis?
Currently, the Los Angeles Lakers could be without their leading scorer. Anthony Davis is listed as Day-to-Day but could be out of the lineup. The Lakers are also going to be missing Talen Horten-Tucker and Austen Reaves. Without these two coming off the bench, the Lakers' offense could suffer.
You'll have to keep an eye on whether or not Anthony Davis will play on Friday.
If the Lakers are without Davis, this game will swing in the direction of the Timberwolves. They might not win the game, but they should be able to cover.
However, if Anthony Davis plays, the Lakers are likely the better bet. The Lakers still have Russell Westbrook, though, one of the best scorers in the NBA. So, who's the best bet at the sportsbook?
Our pick for the Timberwolves versus the Lakers
After looking at what each team brings to this game, we'll have to take the Timberwolves. They're the healthier team, and they understand the gravity of this game.
Even though we don't believe they'll be the winners, they'll likely be able to cover the spread. It won't be easy, but the Timberwolves won't have to worry about LeBron James, which definitely helps.
All of the injuries to the Lakers lineup, including Anthony Davis and LeBron James, make Minnesota the better bet. Had those two been cleared to play, we would've taken the Lakers on Friday night.
