Milwaukee Bucks at Los Angeles Lakers Betting Preview/Prop Pick
08 February 2022

The Milwaukee Bucks have been on quite the roll lately, winning three straight games. A few nights ago, the Bucks laid into the Clippers and won the game 137-113. At this point, it seems the Bucks are an unstoppable force heading straight for the Lakers.
With the trouble the Lakers have had, we wonder just how well they'll do. The good news is, the Lakers are pretty healthy.
After struggling with injuries over the last few weeks, the Lakers are pretty much at full strength. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are on the "day-to-day" list, but they're likely to play.
This will have a huge impact on how they perform against the Bucks tonight. The important matchup is who will guard Giannis Antetokoumpo. Either Anthony Davis or Stanley Johnson will need to.
Milwaukee Bucks: Can anyone stop Giannis?
Giannis is out to prove that the Milwaukee Bucks can win back-to-back championships. His performances recently have proven that they shouldn't be forgotten.
He put up 28 points in their huge win over the Clippers. On average, Giannis puts up 28.9 points per game and is shooting an incredible 56.3% from the field. Needless to say, there aren't many people that can stop him.
Tonight, the Lakers will likely put Anthony Davis on Giannis, which will be an interesting matchup. Both of these players are very athletic for their size, but Anthony Davis has the advantage on the perimeter.
Clearing Anthony Davis out of the paint will be key for the Bucks. Setting screens and cutting the lane should help get the star center out of position for Giannis.
Los Angeles Lakers: Time to start stringing together wins
The Lakers have just claimed a big win over the New York Knicks. However, they've often had a problem where they win one game and lose the following one.
To avoid this, the Lakers need to play to their strengths tonight. The Lakers aren't a very good shooting team from beyond the arc, averaging just 34.78%. So, they need to find a way to work the ball inside easier.
They're also great in transition, which they proved against the Knicks a few nights ago. If they can use this to their advantage, they might keep the game pretty close.
Defensively, they need to remember that the Milwaukee Bucks have a few really good shooters. Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday are both pretty great at stretching the floor. Los Angeles needs to put a stop to that.
Our pick for the Milwaukee Bucks at Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers took a step in the right direction with their recent win over the Knicks. However, we think this will be a game they lose by more than the 4.5-point spread.
Milwaukee is 8-2 against the Lakers in their last ten meetings. Against the spread, the Bucks have a 14-13 record when playing on the road.
Compare that to the Lakers 12-17 ATS record when playing at home, and you've got your answer. The Lakers won't be able to keep up with the Bucks' shooting and interior scoring. The Lakers also have a serious turnover problem which won't help them tonight.
Take the Milwaukee Bucks on the road to win the game, cover the spread, with the total going under.
