It might be surprising to some that the Brewers are favored here. However, when you look at the injuries that the Mets have suffered, it begins to make sense.

All three of the players we just listed are pitchers for the Mets. Considering they’ve taken a hit to their bullpen and their starters, this game won’t be easy. New York might need to rely on hitting.

Getting the start on the mound tonight is David Peterson, who has a 3-0 record this season. Peterson has an ERA of 3.00 over the course of 36.0 innings.

His opponent tonight is the 3-4 Corbin Burnes of the Milwaukee Brewers. Burnes has an ERA of 2.48, even with his under .500 record. It’s beginning to become more clear as to why the Mets aren’t favored to win this game.
