Michigan Wolverines at Iowa Hawkeyes Betting Preview

The Big 10 Conference is once again one of the best in college football, and two of the top teams are set to meet up in Week 5. The 3-1 Iowa Hawkeyes will host the 4-0 Michigan Wolverines in a rematch of the Big 10 Championship Game from a season ago.
Michigan comes into Week 5 as the number four ranked team in the country, as they have been extremely impressive through the first couple of games. The Wolverines are blowing teams out, but this will easily be their biggest test of the season.
Iowa comes into this game with a 3-1 record, and the lone loss was at home to Iowa State. The Hawkeyes are one of the favorites in the Big 10 West Division, and they are also looking for revenge against Michigan from a year ago.

Wolverines Wearing Opponents Out
Michigan is scoring 50 points per game through the first four weeks, and that offense just continues to wear down opponents. The Wolverines have a balanced offensive attack, but the run game has really set the tone.
Black Corum is off to a huge start to the year as he has already racked up 478 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy has thrown the ball well also, but Michigan will attack Iowa on the ground.
The Michigan defense has gotten overlooked this season, but that unit is still holding teams to just 11 points per game. It’s been a dominant start for the Wolverines, but this will be a tough road test.
Iowa Will Slow it Down
The offensive numbers for Iowa through four weeks are pretty rough to look at, but the Hawkeyes are able to win games with defense. Iowa is scoring just 17 points per game, but the defense is allowing less than six points per game.
Quarterback Spencer Petras has played in a ton of big games, but he is throwing for just 131 yards per game. Iowa will attempt to establish the run in this matchup, but that hasn’t worked out well for them either.
Iowa can’t allow Michigan to push the tempo in this game as they just won’t be able to keep up for four quarters.
Wolverines Win in Tight Game
Michigan has been rolling through the first four weeks of the season, but life on the road in the Big Ten Conference always presents a big challenge. Don’t expect the Wolverines to score points at will in this game, as the Iowa defense can shut anyone down.
The problem for Iowa is that they will eventually have to look to score points, and they just don’t have the passing attack to get that done. Iowa will be able to keep this game tight throughout, but in the end, they will just come up a bit short in the upset bid.
Take the 10 points and bet on the Iowa Hawkeyes, but it will be the Michigan Wolverines that come away with a win.
