The New York Mets were one of the most active teams at the trade deadline, acquiring Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson from the Braves, Tyler Clippard from the A's and Yoenis Cespedes from the Tigers. But perhaps the best move the Mets made was the trade that didn't happen. After reports surfaced that New York had acquired Carlos Gomez from the Brewers for Zack Wheeler and Wilmer Flores, the Mets pulled the plug on it over concerns about Gomez' health. That non-move paid immediate dividends as Flores hit a walk-off HR last night to beat the Nationals, 2-1, and cut Washington's lead in the NL East to just 2 games over the Mets.
