A fun matchup is set for tonight between the Memphis Grizzlies and Philadelphia 76ers. The Grizzlies have won three straight games and are currently No. 3 in the Western Conference. Tonight they face a tough test when they have to take on the Philadelphia 76ers.

Finding a way to stop Joel Embiid is going to be tough, can Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies pull it off?

The Philadelphia 76ers are on quite the win streak of their own, winning four in a row. Joel Embiid has worked his way to the top of the MVP leaderboards, and for a good reason. His ability to dominate the paint is proving to be overwhelming for most teams.

The Grizzlies pose a tough challenge for the Sixers, though, especially Ja Morant. So, who’s the best bet in this one?

Memphis Grizzlies: Driving the lane won’t be easy

The Grizzlies will have to find a way to clear lanes for Morant to drive through. Considering Joel Embiid will be down low, he probably won’t want to meet Embiid at the rim.

You can expect a lot of isolation plays to be used to get Morant in one-on-one situations. The Grizzlies are pretty bad at shooting from the perimeter, currently 33.98% from the three. They’ll need to be better tonight.

Their offense as a whole ranks No.4 in the NBA, scoring 111.96 points per game. Unfortunately, their defense gives up 108.18 points per game. Relying on scoring to beat the Sixers won’t be enough.

Philadelphia has a ton of great shooters and, of course, Joel Embiid in the paint. The good news is Steven Adams is a physical center and won’t be backed down easily by Embiid.

Philadelphia 76ers: Fighting for five straight wins

The 76ers come into this game as just slight favorites, with only 3.5-points as the spread. This season the 76ers have gotten much better at shooting from beyond the arc. Shooting 35.49% from the 3PT line will help them stretch the floor against the Grizzlies.

On the interior, Joel Embiid keeps padding the stats and leading his team to victories, making him an MVP favorite.

The key matchup here is Embiid versus Adams. Both of these centers are physical and commanding interior players. However, Embiid is a much better scorer than Adams is.

Now, Philadelphia has gone 0-3 in their last three games against Memphis. This may cause some of you to back away from the 76ers, but we’ll continue to stick with them in this one.

After taking a look at both of these teams, our pick here is the Philadelphia 76ers. We know that Philadelphia has struggled to beat the Grizzlies in the past, but they should be able to pull this one-off. They’re only -3.5, which isn’t a lot of points, and of course, they have Joel Embiid.

Considering these teams are very familiar with each other, we expect a close game. However, Embiid’s dominance down low will keep the 76ers ahead.

The 76ers have gone 10-5 against the spread in their last fifteen, so we trust them here. Take Philadelphia -3.5 with the total going under 220.
