Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors Betting Preview/Player Prop
21 May 2021

Memphis picked up a 100-96 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night to advance to this game. The Grizzlies finished the year with a 38-34 record and were actually 20-16 away from home.
Golden State blew a fourth-quarter lead to the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night and now must regroup in a hurry. The Warriors finished the year with a 39-33 record and lost just six games at home all season long.
The Golden State Warriors are five-point favorites at home against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Grizzlies Want to Defend
The Grizzlies don’t want to turn this into a high-scoring affair, and they will look to win this game with their defense. Memphis gave up just 96 points in the win over the Spurs, and they have been a top-ten defense all season.
Point guard Ja Morant is averaging 19.1 points and 7.4 assists per game, and he will be a big key in this game. Morant is one of the future stars of the league, and this is a chance to prove it on a big stage.
Dillon Brooks was the hero in the first play-in game, and the Grizzlies will need more players to step up for this one. Memphis can get stops, but at some point, they must find a way to score.
Curry Carrying Warriors
Stephen Curry is possibly having the best season of his Hall of Fame career, and he is not someone that the Grizzlies want to deal with. Curry is averaging 32 points per game this season, and he will be looking to take over this game.
Draymond Green has also taken on a bigger role this season, especially when it comes to running the offense. Green is averaging nearly 9 assists per game, and he remains one of the best defensive players in the league.
The Warriors do give up a lot of points, and they will have to lock in on the defensive end of the floor in this one.
Warriors Keep Season Alive
This is not the same Warriors team that was winning the championships, but this team still has Curry and Green leading the way. Golden State believes that it can make some noise in the playoffs, but they have to win this game first.
The Grizzlies will be a team to watch out for in the coming years, but they just aren’t quite ready to be a playoff contender. Memphis will keep this game close until the final minutes, but the Warriors will eventually pull away.
Memphis has had a terrific season, but there is simply no reason to bet against Stephen Curry and the Warriors at home. Bet the Golden State Warriors -5.0 as they defeat the Memphis Grizzlies and earn the 8th seed in the Western Conference.
Player Prop
Stephen Curry (-115) Over 5.5 Assists
We all know Curry can carry the Warriors on his own, but to win tonight he'll need his teammates to step up their scoring output. Steph finished the regular season averaging 5.8 assists per game and dished out nine dimes in the Warriors last matchup against the Grizzlies on 5/16. With just three assists in the last game against the Lakers, look for Curry to bounce back and get over the 5.5 assists line tonight.
