The long, steep decline of Andrew McCutchen has continued. The former NL MVP had an off-year last season and was hoping to turn it around this year. But the early returns (.205 batting average with 6 HRs and 20 RBI) aren't encouraging. Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle has done everything possible to shake McCutchen out of it, including benching him for a few games in Atlanta and dropping him all the way down to sixth in the batting order last night. But the result was more of the same as he managed only a single during an 8-1 loss to the Mets.
