McClutch

12 July 2015

The Pittsburgh Pirates had to overcome three deficits and two ejections last night before finally prevailing over St. Louis, 6-5, on Andrew McCutchen's two-run homer in the bottom of the 14th inning. The victory moves the Pirates to within 3 1/2 games of the front-running Cards in the NL Central. Pittsburgh, which has won seven of eight and 10 of 12, has a chance to shave a little more off the lead tonight as the two teams play the last game before the All-Star break.
