Cubs' manager Joe Maddon is known for his unconventional ways, but he may have topped himself on Tuesday when he brought a magician into the Chicago clubhouse. Maddon wanted to shake the Cubs out of their five-game losing streak that had seen the Northsiders fall 11 1/2 games behind the front-running Cardinals in the NL Central. The method looked to have worked as the Cubs eked out a 1-0 win over the Mets last night. The two teams will be back at it today as the series continues in New York.
