Los Angeles Rams at New York Giants Betting Preview/Player Prop
16 October 2021

The New York Giants host the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday for a Week 6 matchup in the National Football League. There are a number of terrific matchups on the schedule in Week 6, but this game has one of the biggest spreads.
Los Angeles comes into Week 6 with an overall record of 4-1, and they have looked like one of the best teams in the league. The Rams are in a very difficult NFC West Division, and they have to keep stacking up the wins.
New York has gotten off to a 1-4 start this season, and things have gone from bad to worse of late. The Giants are in danger of falling out of the playoff race soon if they aren’t able to get things figured out.
The Los Angeles Rams are 10.5-point road favorites against the New York Giants in Week 6.
Rams Must Run the Football
The Rams have had little trouble scoring this season, but they aren’t doing it with a balanced offensive attack. Los Angeles has averaged just 98 rushing yards per game, and they have to get that aspect going soon.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford has been terrific since joining Los Angeles, throwing for 1,587 yards already this season. The Rams won’t be afraid to take some deep shots on Sunday, but there is pressure on the passing attack to come through.
The defense has been dominant at times, but they are still allowing over 23 points per game. Los Angeles is loaded with talent, but there is still room for improvement.
Giants Must Lean on Defense
The good news for the Giants is that quarterback Daniel Jones will play in this game, but the bad news is that the two best offensive weapons won’t. New York is already averaging just 20 points per game this season, and now they must face a great defense without two stars.
New York is averaging less than 100 rushing yards per game, and that has put too much pressure on Jones. The Rams will be coming after the young QB in this game, and that could create a serious issue.
The Giants must now lean on their defense if they want to find a way to keep this game close. That unit has allowed 28 points per game this season, and they are facing an explosive team.
Depleted Giants Battle the Rolling Rams
There are many factors that point to this being a blowout win for the Rams, but this is also a long trip to the East coast. The New York Giants are still a proud franchise, and they won’t just roll over and let the Rams roll over them.
Los Angeles has looked sharp on offense this season, but that defense still needs to get things going. This will be a great opportunity to put a low number on the board, but look for the Giants to make some plays.
Take the 10.5 points and bet on the Giants in this matchup, but the Rams will have little trouble leaving town with a big victory.
Player Prop
Darrell Henderson Jr. (-145) To Score A TD
Henderson has battled injuries in his short NFL career, but when the Rams RB is on the field, he’s as productive as any player in the league.
The third-year back suffered a rib injury in Week 2 that forced him to sit out the following week. But he has played well in the two games since his return.
In a losing effort against the Cardinals two weeks ago, Henderson had 89 yards rushing (6.4 average) and 27 yards receiving. He followed that up on Thursday night with 82 yards rushing (4.8 average) and 17 yards receiving plus a TD against the Seahawks.
On the season, Henderson projects to 941 yards rushing, 288 yards receiving and 10 TDs.
With that kind of versatility at Matthew Stafford’s disposal, we’ll take Henderson (-145) to get enough touches to score a TD on Sunday against the Giants.
