Los Angeles Lakers at Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Preview

06 December 2022 By Ayden Fahlstrom

The Los Angeles Lakers, with a record of 10-12, will face the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight. LeBron James will return to the team that drafted him again today. Although they had a rough start to their season, the Lakers have completely turned it around.

They've won their last three games, including one over the Milwaukee Bucks. Can they find a way to win another game on the road?

The Cleveland Cavaliers have a record of 15-9 this season after a loss to the New York Knicks. The loss slowed them down a bit, but this team is one of the best in the Eastern Conference.

Currently sitting at third, they're only a few games behind the Milwaukee Bucks. Another win could get them one step closer to taking the No.2 position.

Los Angeles Lakers: Lakers face an injured Cavs team

As a team that often deals with injuries, we likely won't see anyone sidelined for Los Angeles. Anthony Davis and LeBron James are listed as "day-to-day" but should play today.

The Lakers have won four of their last five games, with a few notable wins mixed in. Of the four, the most notable is a 133-129 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on December 2.

As a team, the Los Angeles Lakers are averaging 114.8 points per game. They're led by Anthony Davis, who averages 28.6 points per game.

Russell Westbrook has contributed as well, leading the team with an average of 7.7 assists. When they played the Washington Wizards, Davis put up 55 points, a monumental performance.

Cleveland Cavaliers: Cavaliers searching for 16th win

The Cleveland Cavaliers have established themselves as one of the league's best teams. Similar to last season, their defense is already first in the NBA.

They're allowing an average of 105 points per game this season, an impressive feat. Considering how many great offenses there are, this is really impressive.

The tough part, however, is their currently battling several injuries. Ricky Rubio, Dean Wade, and Jarrett Allen have all been ruled out for tonight's game. A few nights ago, they lost 92-81 to the New York Knicks.

Stopping Anthony Davis and LeBron James won't be an easy feat, so are they the best bet? Or should you roll with the Los Angeles Lakers in this game?

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Pick

The Los Angeles Lakers come into this game as 4.5-point underdogs. After huge performances against the Bucks and the Wizards, they're still on the road.

The extended travel is the reason why we're going to actually take the Cavaliers here. Their defense should be able to defend the Lakers, who are likely tired from the road stretch.

On offense, the Cleveland Cavaliers are averaging 111.3 points per game. With a defense that allows just 105, they should be able to cover the spread.

We're also going to take the under in this game because of Cleveland's defense. It'll be a close game, but they'll pull it out in the end and cover the spread.
