Los Angeles Clippers at Phoenix Suns Game 2 Betting Preview
22 June 2021

LA pulled off a stunning upset over the Utah Jazz last round, winning four straight games at one point. The Clippers come into this series as big underdogs, and finding a way to win on the road will be a challenge.
Phoenix has now won eight straight games in the playoffs, and they have been dominant in most of those games. As a result, the Suns are the number two seed in the Western Conference and the betting favorite.
The Suns are 5.5-point favorites over the Clippers in Game 2 of the series.
Clippers Must Defend
The LA Clippers are playing without Kawhi Leonard, and he is one of the best two-way players in the NBA. LA gave up 120 points in the first game of the series, and they must find a way to get some stops.
Paul George has been putting together the best postseason run of his career, but he isn’t getting a ton of help. George poured in 34 points in the Game 1 loss, and he is going to need a similar performance in this one.
The Clippers are not one of the deepest teams in the league, and they are going to need players to step up if they will win this game. Of course, LA will always compete, but they are shorthanded.
Booker Carrying Suns
Devin Booker is putting on a show for the Suns, and the Clippers don’t seem to have an answer for him. Booker had 40 points included in a triple-double in the Game 1 win, and he is on a mission to lead his team to a title.
Phoenix is also playing without a star, as Chris Paul is currently in the league’s health and safety protocol. Paul should make a return at some point, but the Suns have proven that they can win without him.
The Suns were a top-three defensive team during the regular season, and they can always rely on that if the offense disappears. Phoenix is still a relatively young team, but they don’t have many holes.
Suns Blow out Clippers Again
The absence of Kawhi Leonard just feels like it is too much to overcome for the Clippers, especially when playing on the road. LA did give Phoenix a battle in Game 1 of the series, but they just don’t have enough talent to win.
Even though the Suns are playing without Chris Paul, having Devin Booker on the floor gives them a huge edge. This Suns team is still loaded with talent, and they come into this game with plenty of confidence.
Phoenix is simply on a tear, and they are going to put together another impressive performance on Tuesday night. Bet the Phoenix Suns -5.5 over the LA Clippers as they take a commanding 2-0 series lead.
