Los Angeles Clippers at Philadelphia 76ers Betting Preview
23 December 2022

There are some great NBA matchups on the schedule for Friday, December 23rd, but the best game of them all could be taking place in Philadelphia. The 76ers will host the Los Angeles Clippers, and both teams look like they could be NBA Finals contenders this season.
Los Angeles comes into this game having won four of their last five contests, and they are now 19-14 on the season. The Clippers have been battling injuries all season long, but they are one of the best teams in the league when fully healthy.
Philadelphia brings an 18-12 record into this one, and they are currently in the middle of a five-game winning streak. The 76ers were very inconsistent to begin the year, but it looks as if they are starting to hit their stride.
The Philadelphia 76ers are three-point betting favorites over the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night.
Clippers Need More Offense
If the Los Angeles Clippers are going to play their way back to the top of the Western Conference, then they must continue to find a way to get more scoring. Los Angeles is scoring less than 108 points per game this season, but they should improve as they get healthier.
Paul George leads the team with 23.4 points per game this season, but he just hasn’t been getting a ton of help. Kawhi Leonard has appeared in just 12 games so far, and he has only scored 15 points per game when he has played.
Los Angeles does continue to be a solid defensive team, especially when they have all of their best players on the floor. Getting stops in the paint will be a big key in this matchup.
Sixers Getting Stops
The Philadelphia 76ers have been able to turn their season around by being one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. Philadelphia has a ton of size at every position, and they make life difficult for opponents on the offensive end.
Joel Embiid has continued to be the offensive star for the Sixers, as he is scoring over 32 points per game. Embiid just missed out on the MVP Award a season ago, and he is back in the conversation this year.
Philadelphia is currently playing well on the offensive end of the floor, but they will face a tough defense in this one.
Clippers Complete Upset of Sixers
Both of these teams have been playing great basketball of late, but the Clippers have been beating some of the better teams in the league. Philadelphia is hoping to win another game by being great on offense, but that’s not easy to do against a great defensive team like the Clippers.
This is a game that won’t have much separation throughout the full 48 minutes, and it’s going to be a game that is decided by a play or two late. Look for the two stars for the Clippers to take control of this game in the fourth quarters, and they will push past the 76ers.
Bet the Los Angeles Clippers moneyline as they go on the road to Philadelphia and pick up an upset win over the 76ers.
