LA Clippers at Boston Celtics Betting Preview/Player Prop
02 March 2021

The LA Clippers will continue their road trip by heading to Boston to take on the Celtics on Tuesday night. This game could potentially be an NBA Finals preview, and there will be plenty of All-Stars on the floor for this matchup.
LA comes into this game with an overall record of 24-12, which has them in second place in the Pacific Division. The Clippers have gone just 4-4 in their last eight games, and playing on the road has not been kind to this team.
The Boston Celtics have won two straight games, but this season has been anything but easy for this young team. Boston is just 17-17 on the season, and they are currently in fourth place in the Atlantic Division.
The LA Clippers are four-point road favorites over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night.
Clippers Looking For Consistency
The LA Clippers are averaging 114.9 points per game while giving up just 109 points on the defensive end. Both of these marks are top-10 in the league, but the Clippers have not been able to put a full game together of late.
Kawhi Leonard leads the team with 26.8 points per game, and he continues to be one of the best players in the league. Paul George has chipped in with more than 23 points per game, and he has been shooting the ball well this season.
LA has plenty of depth as well, and Ty Lue has his team ready to compete for an NBA title. Now the Clippers simply need to show up each night and play their best basketball.
Not Enough Offense For Boston
The Boston Celtics are loaded with young talent, but they just continue to struggle to find enough offense. Boston is scoring less than 111 points per game, and a lack of offense has been the biggest problem in many of their losses.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are both scoring more than 25 points per game, and they could take over a game at any time. The Celtics have not been getting a ton of help from their bench, and that has hurt them throughout the season.
Boston has held opponents to just 110 points per game, and they remain one of the best in the league on that end of the floor.
Celtics Complete Upset Win
At some point, the Boston Celtics are going to turn their season around and become one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. Boston simply has too many weapons to continue to struggle, and a win in this game would make a statement.
The Clippers look like a real threat to win the NBA title this season, but they just suffered a tough loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday. LA is now headed to face a young and hungry Celtics team, and that’s not an easy task.
This should be another tight game for the Clippers, and it will likely be another close defeat. Look for Boston to make the clutch plays late to pick up a win that could jumpstart their season.
Bet the Boston Celtics money line over the LA Clippers in this showdown.
Player Prop
Paul George Over 4.5 Assists
Under new coach Ty Lue, Paul George is quietly having his best overall season ever, with improved stats over last year across the board. His advanced stats show his efficiency has risen sharply, with a rise in TS% in each of his last four years, while his usage has declined just slightly, down from 29.6 last year to 28.6 this year.
But while his per game scoring average is down from his career high of 28 in 2018-19, he leads the Clippers with his career best 5.5 assists per game. With a combined 15 total assists over the Clippers last two games it's clear that George is very comfortable with his role as a facilitator.
George missed the first matchup with the Celtics in February, when the Clippers lost 119-115 at home. I expect the Clippers to use PG as a playmaker tonight and see him fulfilling his assists average. So we'll take the OVER 4.5 ASSISTS tonight.
