Kwik Trip 250 2022 Betting Preview/Prop Pick

30 June 2022

The next race in the NASCAR Cup Series happens to be a road course, where many drivers can take a victory here. A handful of drivers have some positive momentum from the Ally 400 but will need to adjust for the road course.

This race will take place in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and will challenge drivers with a tough track. Below you can see which drivers make the cut.

Race Details

Date: Sun, Jul 3, 2:00 PM
Watch on: USA
Track: Road America

Betting Overview

Many drivers are positioning themselves quite nicely in the Cup Series standings. With this being another road course, a handful are specifically favorites to win.

However, the next-gen cars seem to present an opportunity for some drivers. Most likely, the winner will have previous success among other road courses.

Head to Head Matchup to Watch

Ross Chastain (193.849) and Chase Elliott (193.873) are going to have all the attention. Chastain had some good success last year and has looked great so far on road courses this year.

As for Elliot, he is the defending champion and is coming off of the most recent race with a victory at the Ally 400. He also leads in the Cup Series standings, but Chastain is right behind him.

Drivers That Could Win

Ryan Blaney (194.181) is currently third in the Cup Series standings with a great opportunity to make a case for first. He has yet to record a victory this season and is the only driver without one in the top five standings.

He placed sixth at COTA and sixth at Sonoma this season, both of which are tough road courses. Has also recorded three consecutive top-six finishes this year, among other races.

Chase Elliott (193.873) won this race last year and has the recent Ally 400 under his belt just last weekend. He has been a solid choice at winning road courses but only won two last year.

As dominant as Kyle Larson (196.986) was last season on road courses, he has not replicated the same for this season. However, there is a good chance he could turn things around and get back into the conversation of defending his Cup Series title.

Potential Winning Pick

Ross Chastain (193.849) is having a great season and is doing everything right to pave the way for a Cup Series title. He placed seventh here last year and has three top-seven finishes over the last six road courses. He also won at COTA to start the year.

Prop Pick

Head-To-Head Matchup: Ryan Blaney (-115) OVER Austin Cindric

Following a 29th place finish at Charlotte, Blaney has rebounded nicely with three straight Top 10 finishes, including a 3rd at Nashville last week. The No. 12 car ranks No. 1 in Average Running Position (10.5) and No. 2 in Average Driver Rating (97.3).

Cindric has been in the Top 10 in two of the the last three races following a 34th place finish at Charlotte and is coming off a 7th place finish at Nashville. The No. 2 car ranks No. 17 in Average Running Position (17.0) and No. 14 in Average Driver Rating (76.1).

With Blaney rated No. 3 in this week’s Dunkel Index and Cindric No. 5, both drivers head to Wisconsin on a hot streak, but take Blaney (-115) to have the edge in this matchup on Sunday at Road America.
