Kansas Jayhawks at Texas Longhorns Betting Preview/Prop Pick

There are a couple of big games on the schedule in college basketball on Monday night, but the best game of the night is set to take place in the Big 12 Conference. The Texas Longhorns host the Kansas Jayhawks in a Top 25 battle, and the conference title race is still up for grabs.

Kansas comes into this game with an overall record of 19-3, and this team just picked up a monster win over the weekend. The Jayhawks came away with a 24 point win over the Baylor Bears, and that should give them some momentum in this one.

Texas has gone 17-6 this season, and they look like a team that can make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament. The Longhorns can still make a run at the conference title, but they are going to have to win this one. 

The Kansas Jayhawks are slim 1.5-point betting favorites over the Texas Longhorns.

Kansas is Loaded With Weapons

The Kansas Jayhawks are averaging 80.2 points per game this season, and they have the ability to put up points in a hurry. Ochai Agbaji leads the team with 20.8 points per game, and he is a candidate to be named an All-American at the end of the season.

Kansas just faced a terrific defensive team in Baylor last weekend, and they had little trouble putting up points. The Jayhawks are going to have to shoot it well, but they also have some size that can score on the interior.

Kansas will have to be strong on the defensive end in this game as well, but their biggest strength is putting the ball in the basket. 

Texas Wants to Defend

Texas is holding opponents to just 55 points per game, and they can completely lock down an opposing team when they are playing well. The Longhorns will be looking to slow the tempo down in this one as well, but that’s not always easy against Kansas. 

Forward Timmy Allen leads this Texas team with 11.2 points per game, and the Longhorns usually do much of their scoring by committee. The Longhorns don’t have anyone averaging a ton of points, but they have enough talent to win games and score when needed. 

Kansas Crushes Rival Texas

This used to be a massive rivalry in the Big 12 Conference, but it just has not been very competitive over the last couple of years. Texas is now back in the Top 25, but they still have some work to do before they are legitimate national title contenders.

Kansas is obviously a much better team when playing at home, but they are still one of the best teams in the country. The Jayhawks are loaded with offensive talent, and they will be able to find enough cracks in the Texas defense.

This game has the potential to get out of hand in a hurry as the Jayhawks will cruise. Take Kansas -1.5 and the UNDER as this could be a double-digit win.
