Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders Betting Preview

14 November 2021

>

Sunday, November 14th Kansas City Chiefs @ Las Vegas Raiders

The Kansas City Chiefs are finally back on the winning path after two straight victories. However, they're still a far shot from what they looked like last year.

This week, they have some tough competition in front of them when they take on the Las Vegas Raiders. Fortunately for them, there's a lot of offensive talent and a head coach missing from the Raiders roster.

The Las Vegas Raiders took a step towards replacing Henry Ruggs by signing DeSean Jackson. Jackson's a proven veteran who has always been a deep threat for each team he's played on. We'll see him in action against the weak Kansas City Chiefs secondary.

The question is, will he have enough of an impact to lead the Raiders to victory this weekend.

Kansas City looks to win three straight games on Sunday

If the Chiefs want to pull off three wins in a row, they'll need to do much better on offense. Last week, they faced the Green Bay Packers and put up a total of thirteen points.

This kind of stagnant offense isn't typical of the Chiefs, but it's been a problem this season. The Raiders have a pretty good defense this year, and the Chiefs haven't been able to produce points.

On defense, Kansas City will need to find a way to protect themselves against the Raiders receivers. On average, the Chiefs defense allows 25.2 points per game, 25th in the NFL. That defense is going to be tested when they face the Raiders on Sunday night.

However, with the way the Chiefs have been playing, we like their odds against the Las Vegas Raiders.

What will the Las Vegas Raiders bring to Sunday night?

The Raiders are in a tough spot without Jon Gruden and Henry Ruggs. Losing both of these integral parts to the team has been tough on the Raiders. This especially showed last week when the Raiders played the New York Giants.

Las Vegas lost the game 23-16 after they were unable to get their offense off the ground. With DeSean Jackson in the lineup, this could change.

On average, the Raiders pass for 305.13 yards per game, ranking second in the NFL. This passing offense is something they'll definitely use against the Kansas City Chiefs. However, it's been a while since DeSean Jackson played in the NFL, so his impact might not be too large.

We'll have to see how much of a role Jackson will play in the Raiders offense on Sunday night.

Our pick for Raiders versus Chiefs on Sunday night

The Raiders' offense hasn't looked the same since Gruden's departure. Without Ruggs in the lineup, they've suffered even more.

Even with the addition of DeSean Jackson, it'll take some time before the offense takes off again. This will leave an opportunity for the Chiefs to take advantage of the Raiders' struggles.

Along with the Raiders' offensive trouble, the Chiefs have an incredible record against Las Vegas. Going 8-2 in their last ten games and 2-1 in their last three is great for sportsbooks. The Chiefs also perform better on the road against the spread.

They come in at -2.5-points, which isn't a lot to cover, which is why we'll take them here along with the under.
