Betting Overview
This Cup Series race has not been at this venue for the last 60 years. With that being said, drivers have either never competed here or have little experience outside of the Cup Series.
Not a lot of drivers have great road course success either. The popular picks typically have been Chase Elliot and Kyle Larson, as they have a history performing on road courses.
Head to Head Matchup to Watch
If you ignore the betting favorites, for now, some compelling options to watch compete against each other would be Martin Truex Jr. (131.412) and Kyle Busch (120.989).

Drivers That Could Win
Chase Elliott (131.797) has shown dominance by winning five of the last seven road course races for the Cup Series. Recently, he placed second in the road race at Sonoma.
Looking at Kyle Larson (120.901), he won the race at Sonoma and was a second-place finish to Elliott at the road course battle in COTA. If not for Elliot, Larson would have arguably taken the lead at most of these events.
Martin Truex Jr. (131.412) has some positive history at races like this over the years. Going back to 2017, he has three victories, two second place finishes, and a third-place finish out of nine races.
Joey Logano (128.144) has also made some progress this year at road courses. In three races this year, he has three top five finishes and has been a compelling dark horse even though he is a top quality racer.
Potential Winning Pick
Chase Elliott (131.797) is going to be on everyone’s radar as they watch this race. It all comes down to experience, and he is definitely at the top of the list when it comes to road courses.
No one in the Cup Series has been as dominant as Elliot in road courses, especially with his five out of seven victories lately. If Elliot is not dominant in this race, you could argue that his teammate Kyle Larson will get the job done.
Those two together make a tough duo to beat. However, Elliot has shown to be the better out of the two, and this is his race to win.

Top 5 Finish: Kyle Busch (+100)
Busch’s resurgence following a subpar 2020 continued last weekend at Pocono as he finished 2nd in Saturday’s race and won Sunday’s event. Overall, he led more than 20 percent of the laps combined.
It’s part of a hot stretch for the former Cup Series winner as Busch has two wins and six top-five finishes in his last nine races. One of those top-five finishes came in the last road course race at Sonoma (5th) on June 6. He also took first on the Daytona Road Course back on February 9.
Rated No. 2 in this week’s Dunkel Index, we’ll look for Busch at a solid price (+100) to keep his hot streak going and add another top-five finish this weekend.
It looks like we are in for a close and exciting race. Keep up with your latest NASCAR news coverage and betting pick previews with The Dunkel Index.
