Jesperation Shot

20 March 2016

Northern Iowa knows a little something about last-second heaves to win NCAA Tournament games. In 2010, Ali Farokmanesh turned the tournament on its head when he sank a late three-pointer to sink Kansas. Not to be outdone, Paul Jesperson added his name to tournament lore when he drained a shot from half-court on Friday night to send Texas home, 75-72. Tonight, Jesperson and the Panthers will see if they can advance to the Sweet 16 as they take on a Texas A&M team that needed no last-second heroics in dismantling Wisconsin-Green Bay, 92-65.
