Indiana Hoosiers vs Wyoming Cowboys Betting Preview/Prop Pick

The NCAA Tournament tips off on Tuesday night with a pair of First Four games taking place in Dayton, Ohio. The second game of the night will feature the Indiana Hoosiers taking on the Wyoming Cowboys, and the winner gets to face off against Saint Mary’s. 

Indiana comes into this game with some momentum after advancing all the way to the Big Ten Tournament semifinals last weekend. The Hoosiers are still just 20-13 on the year, but they struggled to win games in the Big Ten Conference.

Wyoming had a terrific season in the West Coast Conference, and they enter this game with an overall record of 25-8. The Cowboys have gone just 2-3 in their last five games, but two of those losses have come to NCAA Tournament teams. 

The Indiana Hoosiers are four-point betting favorites over the Wyoming Cowboys on Tuesday night. 

Hoosiers Scoring in the Paint

The Indiana Hoosiers have been inconsistent with their three-point shooting all season long, but they are usually able to find plenty of scoring in the paint. Trayce Jackson-Davis leads the way for Indiana with 18.1 points per game, and he should have a big game in this one. 

Indiana has been winning low-scoring games over the last few weeks, and that’s going to be a key in this game. The Hoosiers are going to need great guard play to win this game and advance, but they will look to pound the ball inside. 

The last five games for Indiana have all been decided by five points or less, and that close game experience should come in helpful for this one as well. 

Wyoming Winning With Defense

The West Coast Conference was an underrated league all season long, and the Wyoming Cowboys were able to hold their own. This is not a league that has many NBA prospects, but there are some physical games. 

Forward Graham Ike leads the way for the Cowboys with 19.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game, and he will get his chance to go at Jackson-Davis. It’s not likely that Wyoming can win this game in the paint, but they can at least hold their own.

The Cowboys are capable of holding opponents to less than 60 points per game, and they will have to control the tempo in this one. 

Wyoming Wins in Thriller

There doesn’t appear to be much separation between these two teams on paper, and it should play out that way on the court Tuesday night. Indiana appears to have more momentum, but this Wyoming team has been solid all season long. 

The Hoosiers have a big advantage in the paint, but they don’t always make a ton of shots. Indiana is also dealing with some injury concerns, and that’s going to cause an issue in this matchup. 

Wyoming might be the underdog in this matchup, but they have faced some good teams on the year, and that experience will allow them to win this game. Bet the Wyoming Cowboys moneyline as they eliminate the Indiana Hoosiers and advance to the First Round on Thursday.
