Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears Betting Preview/Player Prop
17 October 2021

NFC North rivals meet up on Sunday when the Chicago Bears host the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field. The winner of this game will leave town in the first place, and this is a big matchup in Week 6.
The Green Bay Packers looked lost in the season opener against the New Orleans Saints, suffering a 38-8 loss. Green Bay has won four straight games since that time and once again look like a Super Bowl contender.
Chicago has won two straight games, including an impressive Week 5 win on the road in Las Vegas. The Bears still need to find a way to knock off the Packers to be a threat in this division.
The Green Bay Packers are 4.5-point favorites on the road in this huge clash with the Chicago Bears.
Packers Must Get Stops
The Green Bay Packers are allowing 24.4 points per game this season, and that defense has continued to struggle. Green Bay will be playing without a pair of cornerbacks in this game, and that will make things more difficult.
Running the football has also been a struggle for the Packers, but running back Aaron Jones has the skills to be one of the best in the league. Green Bay will need to run the ball on Sunday to keep pressure off their quarterback.
Aaron Rodgers has thrown for 1,241 yards and ten touchdowns this season, but he hasn’t looked as sharp in 2021. The Packers do have plenty of weapons on the outside that can find holes in the Chicago defense.
Bears Struggling to Score
The Chicago Bears are scoring just 16.7 points per game this season, and they are also playing without their top two running backs on Sunday. Chicago has looked better on offense in the last two weeks, especially with Justin Fields leading the way.
Fields has just one touchdown pass so far this season, but he has the tools to give the Packers some trouble in this game. If the Packers are unable to keep Fields in the pocket, then it could be a big day for the Bears on offense.
Chicago is back to being one of the best defenses in football, and the Bears will need this unit to dominate on Sunday.
Packers Pound Their Rivals
Even though Green Bay has gone 4-1 already this season, they come into this game dealing with adversity. The Packers will still have Aaron Rodgers under center, and he has made a history of beating the Bears.
Chicago just doesn’t score enough points consistently, and it’s going to take some offense to win this game. The defense has been playing well for the Bears, but that all changes when Aaron Rodgers comes to town.
This might feel like a great chance for the Chicago Bears to beat their rivals, but it’s not going to happen. Bet on the Green Bay Packers -4.5 as they go into Soldier Field and win this game by double-digits.
Player Prop
Davante Adams (-135) To Score A TD
Green Bay’s sky-is-falling loss to New Orleans in Week 1 seems like a distant memory now. At 4-1 and back in control of the NFC North Division, the one player most responsible for the turnaround – other than Aaron Rodgers – is Adams.
He’s had huge numbers in the past, such as 2018 when he recorded 111 catches for 1,386 yards and 13 TDs; then again last year with 115 catches, 1,374 yards and 18 TDs. But this year could be the best yet as Adams is on pace for over 145 receptions and 2,000 yards. He leads the league in receptions (42), targets (61) and yards (579). The only significant stat that he trails in is TDs with only 2.
But Rodgers and Adams are beginning to remedy that as well. He caught at TD in the Week 3 win over San Francisco and then added another last week in Green Bay’s 25-22 OT victory over Cincinnati. And against the Bears defense last season, Adams caught 12 balls with 2 of those resulting in TDs. Overall, Adams has had success finding the end zone against Chicago with 8 TD catches in his career.
With the Adams-Rodgers connection beginning to heat up again, we’ll take Adams (-135) to score another TD today against the Bears.
