Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears Betting Preview

Week 17 of the NFL season is filled with many meaningful matchups, and one of the biggest games will take place in the Windy City. The 8-7 Chicago Bears will host the 12-3 Green Bay Packers, and both teams have something to play for.

The Packers can wrap up the number one overall seed in the NFC with a win, and Green Bay has been on a roll of late. This team has now won five straight games, and it beat the Bears by a score of 41-25 earlier this season.

The Bears have won three straight games, and they need to win to earn the final Wild Card spot in the NFC. Chicago suffered through a miserable six-game losing streak earlier this season, but it has turned things back around.

The Green Bay Packers are 5.5-point favorites over their NFC North rivals on Sunday. 

Packers Offense is Explosive

The Packers lead the NFL with 31.6 points per game, and they feature a balanced offensive attack. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has thrown for more than 4,000 yards this season, and he is likely the MVP of the NFL this season. 

Green Bay will give up some points on the defensive side of the ball, and that could present some problems on Sunday. The Packers gave up a long run to David Montgomery in the first meeting of the season, and Green Bay must give its offense a chance to take control. 

Bears Must Play Defense

The Bears have one of the best defenses in the NFL, but that defense got exposed in the first meeting against Green Bay. Rodgers was able to pick them apart, so getting pressure on Rodgers will be a huge key in this game.

Chicago is allowing just 22.3 points per game, and it is led by linebacker Khalil Mack. If the Bears are able to create turnovers in this game, then they have a real shot.

Montgomery has been on a roll of late, and he has now run for more than 1,000 yards this season. Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky will still make some bad decisions with the ball, but he has been much more accurate since taking back over as the starting quarterback. 

Bears Beat Division Rival

The Packers want to eliminate their division rivals from the playoff race, but playing in Chicago is never easy. The Bears come into this game with plenty of momentum, and they have started to figure things out on offense.

Look for the Bears defense to find a way to slow down Rodgers and the Packers offense in this game as they put their offense in great positions. Chicago needs to win this game, and the defense will do what it takes to help the team to advance to the playoffs.
