Golden State Warriors at Memphis Grizzlies Game 5 Betting Preview/Prop Picks

The Golden State Warriors enter Game 5 with a 3-1 series lead. They only narrowly won Game 4, but a win is a win. Now, they have the Memphis Grizzlies on the brink of elimination and can end it tonight.

There are a couple of things the Warriors will need to do better on offense, which we’ll address below. Offense is going to be the main factor behind Golden State winning tonight.

The Memphis Grizzlies are in a very tough position at the moment. The good news is that they’re playing at home. The bad news is that they’re still without Ja Morant.

Without Morant, the offense of the Grizzlies took a massive step back. The question is, can they overcome the injuries and rally back tonight? Or will they find themselves bumped out of the NBA Playoffs?

Golden State Warriors: Better shooting is priority number one

After a poor shooting night in Game 4 of the series, the Warriors will look to remedy this. If they can get better scoring opportunities, they should be able to capitalize.

The final score of Game 4 was 101-98, a narrow margin that could’ve gone the other way. In order to avoid that, they need to put up a performance similar to Game 3. The Warriors won 142-112 in Game 3 of this series.

We’d also like to see some other players get involved a bit more, especially Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins can be a great scorer along with Jordan Poole.

The Grizzlies are going to do whatever they can to stop Stephen Curry, so these players need to step up. Poole once had a 31-point game on his own; we’d like to see him do that again. It’ll only help his team secure this series.

Memphis Grizzlies: Without Morant, Memphis needs creativity

Ja Morant runs the offense of the Grizzlies efficiently, especially in terms of assists. Without him, the remaining players need to find a way to get creative. If they can’t, they’ll find themselves at the mercy of the Warriors.

The last thing they need at this point is to get into a shootout with Golden State. Instead, we think they need to focus on better defense and controlling the pace.

If they can control the pace, the Grizzlies can play at their own speed. They can also keep Curry and Thompson from heating up this way.

Sitting on the verge of elimination, the Grizzlies can’t afford to let the Warriors get an early lead. Their offense isn’t nearly as potent without Morant, so they’ll have to be creative to win.

After going over each of these teams, we believe there is one clear winner. The Warriors are only four-point favorites here, making them a clear pick.

Without Morant, the Grizzlies have a much slower offense than the Warriors. We also expect the Warriors bench players to play a larger role tonight.

In terms of betting on the total, we’d suggest taking the over. As we stated, we think the Warriors are going to have an offensive resurgence tonight. We wouldn’t be surprised if they go over 120 points, similar to their Game 3 win.
