Golden State Warriors at Denver Nuggets Betting Preview

30 December 2021

>

Thursday, December 30th Golden State Warriors @ Denver Nuggets

The Golden State Warriors are number one in the Western Conference. They’ll look to keep it that way when they face off against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday.

They are, however, coming off of a loss to those same Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night. Can the Warriors pull off a win this time? Or is there a chance that they’ll be upset twice in a row by the Denver Nuggets?

The Denver Nuggets have back-to-back games against the Golden State Warriors. Although it’s a tough task, they already have one win under their belt. Let’s not forget that the Warriors were actually at home in that game.

This time, the Nuggets have the homecourt and are looking to nail their third straight win. Let’s go over each team and the lines before making our pick.

Golden State Warriors: A loss won’t deter the Warriors

Losing a game is part of the NBA and every other professional sport. The importance is how you can bounce back from a loss. Before their loss to the Nuggets, the Warriors were on a three-game win streak.

Those wins were over the Kings, Grizzlies, and Suns; two of those teams are rather good. The loss to the Nuggets was unsuspected, but the Warriors are still 27-7.

They have the No.7 scoring offense in the league, averaging 110.9 points per game. They’re the fifth-best rebounding team, amassing an average of 46.3 points per game. They will, however, be missing Draymond Green, who is quarantined on Thursday.

With him being out of the lineup, you can guess the rebound total will be significantly lower. So, what about the Denver Nuggets?

Denver Nuggets: Can they go back-to-back on Golden State?

The Denver Nuggets are a good basketball team, but beating Golden State was a shock. They’re now fifth in the Western Conference and looking to land another huge win.

However, they’ve got a lot of people questionable for Thursday’s game. This is definitely going to hurt them if they don’t get some of their players ready in time. The Warriors won’t let up either.

The Nuggets still come into this game as 4.5-point underdogs even after their win over the Warriors. In their last nine games against the Warriors, the Nuggets have gone 2-7 against the spread.

With their lackluster performances against the spread, should you trust them? Or is the smarter bet to take the team with more experience covering spreads?

Our pick for the Golden State Warriors at Denver Nuggets

Although Golden State is coming off of a loss, we like their odds in this game. They only come in as 4.5-point favorites and are 21-11-2 against the spread this season.

In their last nine games against Denver, they’ve gone 7-2 ATS, a remarkable record. They also have performed really well on the road, going 11-4 so far this season.

The Denver Nuggets getting a win on Tuesday was great, but we don’t see it happening again. Instead, we’re taking the team we know we can trust to cover spreads and win games.

The Nuggets are 14-19 against the spread this season; taking the Warriors is a much better bet.
