Golden State Warriors at Boston Celtics Game 6 Betting Preview/Prop Picks

It’s Game 6 of the NBA Finals, and it should definitely be a good one to watch. The Golden State Warriors are up 3-2 after a huge win at home 104-94. Perhaps the best thing about the Warriors through the playoffs has been their defense.

They’ve done well to prevent teams from scoring over 100 points throughout the entire time. The question is, can they do so again tonight?

The Boston Celtics are likely very happy that they’re returning home tonight. During the season, the Celtics had a record of 28-13 at home. In fact, the last time they beat the Warriors was when they played at home in Game 3.

They’ll look to recapture a bit of that Game 3 magic as they face the Warriors at home again. Most importantly, they’ll need to do much better on offense.

Golden State Warriors: Wiggins steps up in Game 5

One of the best things about the Warriors is they have a team full of scorers. In Game 5, when Boston found an answer for Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins stepped up. Wiggins went 12 for 23, scoring 26 points and adding 13 rebounds.

He could’ve been much better from beyond the arc, though, where he went 0-6. Curry only mustered 16 points and shot 0-9 from the 3PT line.

Tonight, they’ll not only need another big game from Wiggins but from Curry as well. They’re on the road this time, without the fans fueling them.

TD Garden is a tough arena to play in; Curry going zero for nine won’t help it get any easier. Defensively, the Warriors are playing incredibly; they’ve allowed just 103 points per game in this series. If they can keep it up, they might win it all.

Boston Celtics: Found the remedy for Curry, it’s time for action

Before the Warriors can count their Championship ring, they have to beat the Celtics. In Game 5, Boston found the remedy to stop Stephen Curry. Unfortunately, they let another Warriors player loose on them.

The Celtics are known for their defense, but it has been partially absent in this series. In order to win this game, Boston needs to get a fast start on both sides of the ball.

Offensively, we’d like to see much more from the Celtics bench. In Game 5, the bench added a total of just 10 points. One player, in particular, Derrick White, played for 21 minutes and only scored a single point.

This kind of offensive presence is a guaranteed way to lose this series. So, now that we’ve looked at each of these teams, which one is more likely to win tonight?

Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics Betting Pick

If the Warriors were playing at home, we’d easily take the Warriors here. However, since they’re on the road, we have to think about a few things.

For starters, the Celtics are 53-21 as favorites this year; today, they come in as -4 favorites. Along with that, aside from this series, they have a good record against the Warriors. 

Golden State is a great team and will likely win the NBA Finals once they return home. However, on the road and with the Celtics in desperation mode, we’ll take Boston.

The Celtics also only need to cover four points, so it shouldn’t be a problem. We’ll tack on the over here as well since it has been reduced to 210.

Jayson Tatum (-115) OVER 27.5 Points

Tatum averaged 26.9 points in 76 games during the regular season, which ranked No. 1 on the Celtics. The small forward has averaged 26.2 points per game in 23 postseason games, which also ranks No. 1 on the Celtics. Both those averages increase to 28.5 points per game in Boston wins.

With Dunkel predicting a Celtics win while going OVER their Vegas point total, take Tatum (-115) to finish OVER his Vegas total of 27.5 points versus the Warriors.
