Betting Overview
Chase Elliot once again is a favorite to win and remains the current Cup Series leader. With four wins and none top-five finishes, he is a great option to look at every race.
With this being a road course, many drivers will need to be creative if they want to win. The usual favorites are being looked at every time a road course is the next race in line.
Head to Head Matchup to Watch
Chase Elliott (206.590) and Kevin Harvick (207.916) are two drivers to watch compete against one another. Harvick is coming off of his second win of the season recently at the Federated Auto Parts 400.
However, Elliot has been dominant at road courses, with this one in particular. Elliot should come out ahead in a showdown between Harvick.

Drivers That Could Win
Daniel Suarez (214.387) is worth some consideration at this road course. While he is currently 15th in the Cup Series rankings, he provides a great opportunity to land a big payday.
He won at Sonoma, was leading every lap in the first stage back in COTA, placed fifth in the Road America race, and was lining back up in fifth for the restart back in Indy. That was his only win of the season, and he has five top-five finishes.
Kyle Larson (212.288) won this race last year but has put up disappointing results for road courses this year. His best race was at Road America, where he came in fourth. He desperately needs a win to get back on track.
Potential Winning Pick
Chase Elliott (206.590) continues to pull away in the Cup Series rankings, as he is currently 116 ahead of Ryan Blaney, who is in second. He is coming off of a fifth-place finish at the Federated Auto Parts 400, which pushed him further in the rankings.
Elliot has won two out of the last three years here and was runner-up in the year he did not win. For the other road courses this season, he has placed fourth, eighth, second, and then 16th. He is the most dangerous driver coming into this race.
Prop Picks
Top 10 Finish: AJ Allmendinger (-130)
Allmendinger races full time in the Xfinity Series where he has three wins this year, including at the Indy Road Course at the end of July. He’s also very competitive when he’s racing in the Cup Series as his 7th place finish the next day at Indy showed. Allmendinger captured his first Cup Series victory at Watkins Glen back in 2014.
With Allmendinger rated No. 3 in this week’s Dunkel Index, take the No. 16 car (-130) to put together another solid effort and finish in the Top 10 at Watkins Glen.
Head-To-Head Matchup: Austin Cindric (-105) OVER Ross Chastain
While Chastain has two victories on the season, he’s also had a number of costly dustups on the track. His latest came last week at Richmond where a crash overshadowed an early lead and the No. 1 car ended up finishing 18th. That made the fourth straight weeks Chastain has finished outside the Top 10.
Cindric was also outside the Top 10 at Richmond with a 12th place finish that came on the heels of finishing 37th at Michigan. But the rookie Daytona 500 champ looked very comfortable on the road course at Indy with a 2nd-place finish at the beginning of August.
With Cindric rated No. 4 in this week’s Dunkel Index and Chastain at No. 15, take the rookie (-105) to once again have the better day on the road course at Watkins Glen.
