Georgia Bulldogs at Clemson Tigers Betting Pick

The college football season officially started last weekend, but the real fun will begin on Saturday night in the Duke’s Mayo Classic. This game will feature the Georgia Bulldogs and Clemson Tigers, and both teams are College Football Playoff contenders.

Georgia has been a CFP contender over the last few years, but they aren’t always able to find a way to clinch a spot. The Bulldogs went 8-2 a season ago, including a 7-2 record in SEC Conference action. 

Clemson won the ACC title game in 2020, getting some revenge on Notre Dame in the process. The Tigers were then stunned by Ohio State in the CFP Semifinals, and they will be out for revenge this season. 

The Clemson Tigers are 3.5-point favorites over the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday night. 

Bulldogs Led By Daniels 

JT Daniels took over the starting quarterback job at Georgia last season, and he will now be in control of the offense in 2021. The Bulldogs have a chance to be a College Football Playoff contender this season, but they are going to need Daniels to be special.

Georgia has always been a program that has explosive running backs on the roster, but that doesn’t appear to be the case this season. The Bulldogs are going to have to run the ball in this game, but they are facing a dominant defensive front.

The defense of Georgia will also play a key role in this game, and that defensive line is going to be a problem for opponents. 

Clemson Replacing Some Talent

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne have carried the Clemson offense over the last few seasons, but they are now both in the NFL. Clemson did have so many blowout wins in recent years that some reserves were able to get some experience. 

DJ Uiagalelei will take over the offense at Clemson, and he is another player that should soon be starring on Sundays. The Tigers are going to run the football effectively as well, and they have talent that can wear down any defense.

Clemson is always a team that has a dominant and destructive defensive line, and that should be the case again this season. The Tigers will be aggressive on defense in hoping to force some turnovers. 

Tigers Too Tough For Georgia

Georgia has been one of the top college football programs over the last few seasons, but they just haven’t been able to win a big game. The Bulldogs get another chance to pick up an impressive win in the season opener, but taking on Clemson is going to be a challenge. 

Even though the Tigers will be taking the field without Lawrence and Etienne, this Clemson team will not be without talent. Few teams in the country reload a roster as quickly as Clemson, and the Tigers are going to be solid on both sides of the ball.

Georgia is going to keep this game close, but the Bulldogs just won’t have enough offense to pull off the upset. Bet the Clemson Tigers -3.5 on Saturday as they have just enough offense to win this game by at least a touchdown.
