There are some great games slated for this weekend as the FCS continues. James Madison takes on North Dakota, South Carolina State faces Jackson State, and South Dakota State goes against Montana State.

With so many great games available to watch, we could see how you might have trouble with the picks. Which is where we come in.

We’re going to review each of these games and give you a pick for each of them. Hopefully, this will help you make a decision this weekend, especially if you aren’t familiar with the teams.

We’ll get started with the first FCS game this week on Friday, James Madison vs. North Dakota. Two teams that had incredible performances last week.

James Madison at North Dakota State, Friday, December 17th

James Madison was able to grab a huge 28-6 win over Montana and moved forward to the next game. Their offense was firing on all cylinders, but the most impressive part was their defense holding Montana to six points. They’ll need that defense against North Dakota State, who beat East Tennessee by 24-points last week.

North Dakota State is the favorite in this game, and for a good reason. They’ve got an incredible defense and the offense to match. They racked up over 400 total yards against East Tennessee and dominated the time of possession.

Out of these two teams, we’ll definitely take North Dakota State to win this one and cover the spread.

South Carolina State vs Jackson State, Saturday, December 18th

South Carolina State finished their season with a 6-5 record and find themselves in a tough spot. Sure, they snagged a win against Norfolk State, but now they face Jackson State.

This is a rough test for South Carolina State, which is why they come in as 10-point underdogs. We don’t think they’ll be able to win this one, but could they cover the spread?

Jackson State is 11-1 on the season and in line to win the Cricket Celebration Bowl. Head Coach Deion Sanders has even convinced an FSU recruit to come to his team.

They beat their last opponent by 17 points, so we doubt they’ll have trouble here. Take Jackson State to win this game by fourteen points, covering the spread.

South Dakota State at Montana State, Saturday, December 18th

This is the game to decide the FCS Championship. One of these teams will face the winner of James Madison vs. North Dakota State. South Dakota State beat Villanova 35-21, and unfortunately, their defense didn’t hold up well.

Luckily for them, their offense held on and secured a win. Now they’ll face another tough offense in Montana State.

Montana State throttled Sam Houston 42-19 last week. They’ll look to put up the same kind of intensity against South Dakota State.

Considering how South Dakota State struggled against Villanova’s offense, we’ll take Montana State here. Montana actually comes in +6 in this one, so we like these odds even more.
