The turnaround last season orchestrated at Florida Atlantic by new head coach Lane Kiffin was immediate. Taking a 3-9 team, Kiffin produced an 11-3 season that was capped off by a 50-3 win over Akron in the Boca Raton Bowl and had many prognosticators predicting the Owls would be playing on New Year's Day this season.
