Dunkel PGA: Sanderson Farms Championship Betting Preview
30 September 2020

The PGA Tour will turn its attention to the Country Club of Jackson for the Sanderson Farms Championship this week. This tournament has been played in Jackson since the fall of 2014. This tournament has been a part of the PGA Tour for 52 years and raised over $8 million for local charities.
Scott Stallings holds the course record, as he blazed to a -24 back in the 2012 event. Sebastian Munoz won the event a season ago and is listed at +3100 for the event in 2020.
He is not our pick to win this season. Let’s take a look at the 2020 Sanderson Farms Championship Betting Preview:
Scottie Scheffer +1000
The rookie of the year in 2020 had to miss the US Open due to a positive COVID-19 test. He is expected to return this weekend, though. He currently sits at 30th in the Official World Golf Rankings, and in his last outing, finished fifth at the Tour Championship.
Before his sickness, he was playing fantastic golf, with six straight top 22 finishes, including back-to-back fourth places and a fifth place.
Byeong Hun An +2700
The South Korean golfer should set up well for the course in Jackson. An had five Top 10 finishes last season and made the cut in 15 out of 23 events. An finished 62nd at the US Open, barely missing the cut.
An finished fourth back in February at the Honda Classic. The biggest key with An will be his ability to put together four straight days of great golf, something he has had struggled with in the past.
Zach Johnson +3400
One of the veterans on the tour will make his presence felt in Jackson. If fans were heavy for this event, he would certainly be one of the fan favorites.
Johnson fared well at the US Open, with an eighth-place finish. That came two events after his seventh at the Wyndham.
He has not played since the US Open, so he hopes rust is not a factor in the tournament. Johnson made 13 out of 19 cuts a season ago.
Henrik Stenson +4100
Ever since his back injury, things have not quite been the same for Stenson. He did win an event in December of 2019 but played just three more events after that until his return on July 30.
He made the cut in two of the four events, with the PGA Championship and US Open as the two he failed to reach Saturday. Stenson finished 21st last week, which was disappointing following his final day 71.
Sergio Garcia +5500
As you can see, the theme of a few of our betting picks is veterans who have been there and done that, after the hot rookie. Garcia is another guy that needs to find his groove. When he does, though, the guy can get hot.
He made 13 out of 17 cuts a season ago, but most recently has missed his last two and three out of the last five. Back in June, Sergio finished fifth at the RBC Heritage, and in January, he went for sixth in Saudi Arabia. Look for Garcia to aim for consistency all weekend.
Best of luck with your betting on the Sanderson Farms Championship. We are looking forward to a great event, and have some pretty talented golfers in the event.
This is going to be a tough one to nail down the exact winner, but if you do enough research and expand a bit with your betting options, you could be able to take down a nice payment. Enjoy the competition, and we will see you next week on the PGA Tour!
