Duke Blue Devils vs Virginia Tech Hokies Betting Preview/Prop Pick

Championship Week has been off to a terrific start in college basketball, but Saturday night is when we start crowning some winners. The Duke Blue Devils and Virginia Tech Hokies are set to meet up in the ACC title game in what is a surprise.

Duke getting to the title game is not a surprise as the Blue Devils on the regular season crown in the ACC. This team has a chance to be a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament, but it will need to pick up a big win on Saturday night. 

Virginia Tech is in the ACC Championship Game for the first time in school history. The Hokies blew out North Carolina on Friday night to get to this point, but they will once again be a sizable underdog in this one. 

The Duke Blue Devils are six-point betting favorites over the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Blue Devils Blowing Teams Out

Duke enters Saturday night with a scoring average of 80.6 points per game, and they are allowing less than 67 points per game this season. This has led to a number of blowout victories along the way, but they have been battled in the ACC Tournament. 

Freshman Paolo Banchero leads the team with 16.9 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, and he always seems to step up when the lights are the brightest. Banchero has plenty of talented teammates around him, and Duke is hard to stop in the paint.

The Blue Devils want to win games with their offense, but they also have the ability to completely shut the Hokies down as well. 

Hokies Have to Defend 

If Virginia Tech is going to win this game, then they will have to get it done on the defensive end of the floor. The Hokies are holding teams to just 62 points per game, and it’s going to take a similar effort in this one. 

Virginia Tech put on an offensive clinic in their semifinal win over North Carolina as they made nine three point shots and had 14 assists. Forward Keve Aluma leads the team with 15.7 points per game, but the Hokies get the job done as a team.

The Hokies can’t afford to get into a high-scoring affair with Duke, but they do have some talent on the offensive side of the floor.

Duke Destroys Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech has had a remarkable run up to this point, but things are going to change quite a bit in this matchup. The Hokies are going to have a tough time getting stops against Duke, and they also don’t have the offense to keep up.

Duke is a team that is loaded with offensive weapons, and they also appear to be playing some of their best basketball of the season. Banchero and the rest of his teammates should have little trouble scoring some points in this matchup. 

Most ACC title games come down to the wire, but that won’t be the case in this one. Bet the Duke Blue Devils -6.0 as they defeat the Virginia Tech Hokies by close to 20 points on Saturday night.
