Denver Nuggets at Toronto Raptors Betting Preview/Player Prop

24 March 2021

The Toronto Raptors host the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night, and this is an important game for both teams. Toronto is trying to snap a long losing streak while the Denver Nuggets are looking to continue their climb in the Northwest Division.

Denver has won four of their last five games, and they are starting to look like an NBA Finals contender again this season. The Nuggets bring a 26-17 record into this game, and they currently sit in second place in the Northwest Division.

Toronto has now lost nine straight games, and they are going to miss the playoffs in the Eastern Conference. The Raptors are expected to be sellers at the Trade Deadline, and this roster could look very different soon.

The Denver Nuggets are 1.5-point favorites over the Toronto Raptors in this NBA matchup on Wednesday night.

Denver Doing it on Both Ends

The Denver Nuggets are allowing just 110 points per game this season, and they remain one of the top defensive teams in the league. A great defense has become the expectation in Denver, but this team is also one of the best offensive teams in the league.

All-Star Center Nikola Jokic leads the way with 27.1 points and 8.6 assists per game, and the Nuggets run their offense through the big man. Denver is now averaging over 115 points per game, and they make things difficult for opposing defenses.

If the Nuggets are shooting the ball well, then they are nearly impossible to beat with how great they are on the defensive end.

Raptors Reeling on Offense

The Toronto Raptors have dealt with a ton of adversity this season, and injuries have really affected this offense. Toronto is now scoring just 112 points per game, but they have struggled to get to 100 in most games during this losing streak.

Kyle Lowry is averaging 17.6 points and 7.4 assists per game for Toronto, but he could be on his way out of town soon via trade. Fred VanVleet has emerged as the face of the franchise, and he is leading the team with more than 20 points per game.

This team will still show up to compete every night, but they just don’t have the offense to keep up.

Denver Dominates Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors are having a season to forget, and things have really come apart for this team of late. Hosting the Nuggets is much better than being forced to play them in Denver, but it’s not going to matter in terms of the final score.

Denver has been scoring points like crazy of late, and they remain one of the top defensive teams in the league. The Nuggets should be able to limit the Raptors to 100 points or less, and Nikola Jokic and company will take over this game on offense.

Don’t expect this game to be close for long as the Nuggets will win this game by double digits. Bet the Denver Nuggets -1.5 over the Toronto Raptors in this NBA showdown on Wednesday night.

Player Prop

Nikola Jokic (-105) Over 25.5 Points

Jokic has done it all for the Nuggets this season and he hasn't shown any signs of slowing down soon. With triple doubles in the last two games, he now has 12 on the season and is a serious contender for the MVP award.

On the year Jokic is averaging 27.1 ppg, good for 9th in the league overall. Over the Nuggets last three games he’s upped that scoring average to 30.3 ppg while shooting better than 60% from the field.

Tonight’s matchup with the Raptors should be extremely favorable for Jokic. Toronto has lost nine straight games while giving up 119.78 points against. This should mean plenty of opportunity for Jokic to score tonight. I expect him to show why he’s so valuable to Denver and go over 25.5 points tonight.
