Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns Game 3 Betting Preview
05 May 2023

Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals is set to take place on Friday night, and the series now shifts to Phoenix. The Suns will host the Denver Nuggets, and the visitors have taken a commanding 2-0 series lead.
Denver actually entered this series as underdogs to the Phoenix Suns, but they have looked sharp so far. The Nuggets are a team that usually plays better at home, but they have proven that they do know how to win on the road.
Phoenix immediately became a title contender after acquiring Kevin Durant, and they had no trouble in the first round. The Suns now must protect their home court for two games if they want to make this a competitive series.
The Phoenix Suns are four-point betting favorites over the Denver Nuggets in Game 3 of this series.
Nuggets Following Lead of Jokic
The Denver Nuggets are an extremely talented team, and everyone seems to know their place on this team. Nikola Jokic averaged a triple-double during the regular season, and he has been just as dominant in this series through two games.
The Nuggets have also been getting some great shooting from Jamal Murray, and they tend to play better when he is scoring. Denver has been wanting to slow down the tempo against Phoenix, but they aren’t afraid to try and score, either.
This Denver team held Phoenix to just 87 points in Game 2, and the defense was solid again in the series opener. Don’t be surprised to see the Nuggets put up another low score on that end of the floor.
Dynamic Duo Must Dominate For Suns
The Phoenix Suns have two of the best players in the NBA in Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, and those two players must set the tone. Both players are capable of taking over a game, but Durant and Booker will both need to be great in this matchup.
Booker scored 35 points in the Game 2 loss, but the rest of his teammates combined for just 52 total points. Denver has been trying to take Durant out of the equation, and that might be easier to do now that Chris Paul is out with an injury.
Phoenix will have to find a way to take control of this game on the defensive end of the floor if they want to find a way to get back into the series.
Denver Delivers Devastating Blow to Suns
The Phoenix Suns just don’t seem to have an answer for Nikola Jokic, and that is going to continue to be the case in this matchup. Phoenix should shoot the ball better on their home floor, but it’s not going to matter if they can’t stop the Denver center.
The potential absence of Chris Paul is a huge loss for the Suns as well, and it’s going to give the Nuggets a boost of confidence. You should expect more scoring from Phoenix in this game, but Jokic and the Nuggets will find a way to keep up.
Bet the Denver Nuggets moneyline as they go into Phoenix and win to take a 3-0 series lead.
