Dallas Cowboys at Minnesota Vikings Betting Preview
20 November 2022

We've got an NFC matchup that everyone will want to watch scheduled today. The Dallas Cowboys, with a 6-3 record, will face the 8-1 Minnesota Vikings.
The Cowboys are coming off a tough loss last week to another NFC North team. After a 31-28 loss to the Green Bay Packers, the Cowboys are hoping to get back on track.
Currently, on a seven-game winning streak, the Minnesota Vikings are 8-1. Perhaps more impressive is their 4-0 record at home this season.
Led by Kirk Cousins, the Vikings are playing as a more complete unit this season. After a 33-30 win over the Buffalo Bills, the next team in their sights are the Cowboys.
Dallas Cowboys: A strong defense will help them prevail
As the Dallas Cowboys come into this game, there is one thing they need to focus on. Finding a way to stop WR Justin Jefferson of the Vikings should be priority number one.
The good news for the Cowboys is they have one of the best defenses in the NFL. On average, the Cowboys give up just 18.2 points per game. In terms of passing yards, they give up just 206.7.
They can't shy away from taking shots downfield on offense, either. The Vikings have a few defensive players that are sidelined, including two defensive backs.
Getting CeeDee Lamb open this afternoon should take much work. What we will say is that Dak Prescott needs to be accurate and not turn the ball over. If he does, this game will swing in favor of Minnesota.
Minnesota Vikings: Vikings need to establish the running game
Although they're known as a high-scoring team, the Vikings might need to focus on something else. This game could come down to the wire, and controlling the clock should be a priority.
They can do this by establishing the run, which the Cowboys struggle to defend. On average, the Dallas Cowboys allow 143.1 rushing yards per game.
Winning seven games in a row puts a target on your back, and the Vikings know this. Last week, against the Buffalo Bills, Kirk Cousins threw two uncharacteristic interceptions.
Although they won the game, it could've easily gone in the opposite direction. Today, Cousins needs to be careful to not give the ball back to the Cowboys' offense.
Dallas Cowboys vs. Minnesota Vikings Pick
Each of these teams brings a lot of talent into today's game. The Vikings have the eighth-highest-scoring team in the NFL. They've found ways to beat teams even if they're trailing by double-digits.
However, the injuries are beginning to pile up, and that's where we see the problem. This is especially true because of all the defensive injuries.
Minnesota will be without two defensive backs, putting them in an awful position. Their defense allows over 400 yards each game this season.
Today, we believe we'll see those yards transform into points. Between these two, the best bet is the Dallas Cowboys, who are only one-point favorites.
