The Seattle Mariners were held to two hits last night for the fourth time this season and the third time in the last two weeks while falling to the Royals, 4-1. They also whiffed 13 times, marking the 10th time this season that they had struck out at least 10 times in a game. With the offense struggling, the one player Seattle can ill-afford to lose -- Nelson Cruz (.315, 19 HRs, 44 RBI) -- had to leave the game early last night with a displaced pelvic bone. It was reportedly popped back into place, but it's not clear how much time Cruz will miss. The Mariners will see if they can muster some offense tonight as they take the field in the second game of their series with Kansas City.
