Creighton Bluejays vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs Betting Preview

Creighton is the number five seed in the West, and the Bluejays have had to play really good basketball to reach the Sweet 16. The Bluejays have improved their record to 22-8 with two wins, but now the road gets much tougher.
Gonzaga is the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, and the Bulldogs are a perfect 28-0 this season. While there have been a number of upsets so far in the tournament, Gonzaga has had little trouble winning two games.
The Gonzaga Bulldogs are 13.5-point favorites over the Creighton Bluejays.
Creighton Must Defend
If Creighton is going to find a way to upset Gonzaga on Sunday, then it must start on the defensive end of the floor. The Bluejays are holding opponents to just 67 points per game, but they have the tendency to take some possessions off.
Creighton does have an offense that is capable of keeping up with Gonzaga, as this team is scoring 76 points per game. Few teams have attempted to try and run with Gonzaga, but the Bluejays don’t know any other style.
Point guard Marcus Zegarowski leads the team with 15.7 points and 4.4 assists per game, and he does have the ability to take over when needed.
Gonzaga Just So Explosive
Gonzaga has been overwhelming opponents all season long, and they are second in the country with scoring 92 points per game. This Bulldogs team is loaded with talent, and they have three players capable of scoring 30 points on any night.
Corey Kispert leads the way with 19 points per game, and center Drew Timme has chipped in with over 18 points per night. Point guard Jalen Suggs is the engine that drives the Bulldogs on offense, and this team can score points in a hurry.
The Bulldogs will give up some points, but they are confident in being able to get them right back on the offensive end.
Bluejays Battle Tough in Defeat
Beating Gonzaga has proven to be impossible for every team so far this season, and keeping the final score within double-digits has happened just once. Creighton is one of the few teams that does have the offense to give the Bulldogs a scare.
The problem for Creighton is that they just don’t defend well enough, and Gonzaga is going to score at least 90 points in this game. When Creighton needs a big stop on defense, they just won’t be able to get one.
Gonzaga is not going to blow this game wide open, but they won’t really be tested in this matchup. The Bulldogs will advance to the Elite 8, but they won’t be able to cover the large spread in this game.
