Conference Championship Round Picks

There are just three NFL games left this season, and that means that we have reached conference championship weekend. Both games set to take place this weekend are terrific matchups, and you are going to see very small spreads.

Here is a look at each of the conference championship games this weekend and a Dunkel pick and prediction for each game. 

San Francisco 49ers vs. Philadelphia Eagles -2.5

The NFC Championship Game will take place first on Sunday, and that will be a matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams were impressive in winning their NFC Divisional Round playoff games, and it should set up for a battle. 

San Francisco is the much better defensive team in this game, and they can really get after opposing quarterbacks. The 49ers can also run the ball effectively, as Christian McCaffrey is having a huge season. 

Philadelphia wants to score points in a hurry, and quarterback Jalen Hurts is having a monster season. The Eagles just have so many weapons on offense, but they are a team that needs to find a way to get some defensive stops.

The San Francisco 49ers have plenty of recent postseason success, and they have a veteran team that knows how to win games. The Eagles are playing at home in this game, though, and that is going to be a pretty big advantage. 

Don’t expect much separation between the 49ers and Eagles in this matchup, but at some point, the home team will take control. The best bet to make in this game is to take the Philadelphia Eagles -2.5 as they cruise to a comfortable win over the San Francisco 49ers. 

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Kansas City Chiefs -1.0

The AFC Championship Game is going to receive plenty of hype and attention as it will be a rematch of the game from a season ago. The Kansas City Chiefs host the Cincinnati Bengals, and these two teams have plenty of recent history in this rivalry. 

Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow just continues to put up ridiculous numbers, especially when it comes to the playoffs. Burrow threw for 4,475 yards during the regular season and then had two touchdown passes against Buffalo last round. 

The Kansas City Chiefs are dealing with some issues as quarterback Patrick Mahomes has a high ankle sprain. Mahomes is expected to try and suit up for this game, but he might be limited in what he can do. 

The real problem for the Chiefs is going to come in the secondary as they just struggle to get stops at times. Cincinnati is a team that wants to play fast, and they are going to be taking plenty of deep shots in this game. 

Kansas City is desperate for revenge this time around, but they just won’t be able to get it done. Take the upset in this game and bet the Cincinnati Bengals moneyline as they are going to knock off the Kansas City Chiefs to return to the Super Bowl.
