Colorado Avalanche at Tampa Bay Lightning Game 4 Betting Preview/Prop Picks

22 June 2022

Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals is set for Wednesday night, and we now have a terrific battle in this series. The Tampa Bay Lightning were able to pick up a win in Game 3, but the Colorado Avalanche still hold a 2-1 series lead.

Colorado has had very little trouble so far in the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs, but they now have some pressure on them. After dominating Game 2 of this series, the Avalanche now need to pick up a win in Game 4 to keep the Lightning from having some momentum.

The Lightning are looking to win their third straight Stanley Cup title, and they responded in a big way at home in Game 3. Tampa Bay can really put the pressure on by winning in Game 4, but they are still the underdogs.

The Colorado Avalanche are the moneyline betting favorites at -112 over the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Questions About Colorado Defense Return

After suffering a 6-2 loss in Game 3 of the series on Monday night, questions now return about the Avalanche defense and goaltending. Colorado goaltender Darcy Kuemper has posted terrific stats this postseason, but he can struggle against some of the best teams.

Even though Colorado suffered a loss in Game 2, the Avalanche were still aggressive on the offensive end. Gabriel Landeskog had a pair of goals on Monday night, and there are plenty of other offensive weapons on this team.

Colorado wants to speed this game up, but they have to find a way to get some stops on the road. The Avalanche have more talent, but they still have plenty to prove.

Tampa Bay Finds the Offense

The Tampa Bay Lightning have finally found the offense as they were able to score six goals in the Game 3 win. Tampa Bay had just 39 total shots in the first two games of this series, but they took complete control on Monday night.

Ondrej Palat and Steven Stamkos both scored their 10th goal of the playoffs in the Game 3 win, and those two players have to keep showing up. Tampa Bay have not been great on offense in this playoffs, but they showed that they have the potential.

Goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy finally showed up in the Game 3 win, but he has to continue to dominate if the Lightning are going to get back into this series.

Lightning Level the Series

It looked as if the Colorado Avalanche were going to run away with this series, but things changed in a big way in Game 3. The Avalanche have been nearly unbeatable so far in the playoffs, but the Lightning flipped the script in Game 4.

Colorado has not been a good defensive team all season long, and that came back to bite them in the Game 3 loss. Tampa Bay now has the momentum, and the Lightning should have a big night on Wednesday.

Bet the Tampa Bay Lightning moneyline as they pick up a second straight win in this series and even things up to keep the pressure on the Colorado Avalanche.

Prop Picks

Tampa Bay (+145) OVER 3.5 Goals

Tampa Bay is averaging 3.5 goals per game, which ranks No. 8 in the league, while converting 23.9 percent of its power plays, which also ranks No. 8. Scores have gone OVER in seven of the Lightning’s last eight games versus the Avalanche.

With Dunkel predicting a Tampa Bay home victory by the score of 4-3, take the Lightning (+145) to finish OVER their Vegas team total of 3.5 goals against Colorado.

Nikita Kucherov (+145) Anytime Goalscorer

Kucherov had 25 goals in 47 games during the regular season, which was tied for No. 3 on the Lightning. The veteran right wing has added 7 goals in 20 postseason games, which also ranks No. 3 on the Lightning.

With Dunkel predicting a Lightning win while going OVER their Vegas goal total, take Kucherov (+145) to score a goal against the Avalanche.
