Colorado Avalanche at St. Louis Blues Betting Preview/Prop Picks
23 May 2022

The Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues are set to meet up again on Monday night for Game 4 of their Stanley Cup Playoff series. Colorado comes into this game with a 2-1 series lead, and they will be looking to take complete control of this series.
The Avalanche have taken back control of the series after suffering a loss in Game 2. Colorado continues to be the betting favorites to win the Stanley Cup, and they can take a big lead in this series with a win.
St. Louis is a recent Stanley Cup champion, and they are always a difficult team to eliminate in the playoffs. The Blues upset the Minnesota Wild in the First Round, but they are in for a rough battle against the Colorado Avalanche.
The Colorado Avalanche are the moneyline betting favorites at -167 over the St. Louis Blues for Game 4 on Monday night.
Colorado Cruising on Offense
The Colorado Avalanche just scored five goals in the Game 3 victory, and they are a tough team to stop when they get rolling. Colorado is averaging 4.3 goals per game in the playoffs, and they will look to win this game on offense.
Cale Makar leads the Avalanche with 11 total points in the playoffs, and that has come from the defensive position. Nathan MacKinnon has scored five goals to lead the way, and he is always dangerous with the puck.
Darcy Kuemper has been terrific in net for the Avalanche in the postseason as he is allowing just two goals per game. If Kuemper has another solid game, then this team will be impossible to beat.
Blues Need More Goaltending
Jordan Binnington is allowing just 1.7 goals against per game in the postseason, but his playoff run has come to an end. Binnington suffered a knee injury in the Game 3 loss, and that will put a ton of pressure on Ville Husso.
St. Louis has to do something to take some pressure off of Husso, and they have to be better on offense. The Blues are scoring 3.33 goals per game in the postseason, but they need to be even better in this series.
Ryan O’Reilly has been a star for the Blues as he leads the team with 12 points in the playoffs. St. Louis is always a great team on the power play, and that unit will need to provide a spark as well.
Avalanche Roll Over Blues
The injury to Binnington is going to cause some serious issues for the St. Louis Blues, and it’s an issue that the Avalanche will take advantage of. St. Louis has done a decent job of slowing down Colorado up to this point, but that won’t be the case on Monday night.
Colorado just has so many weapons on the offensive end of the ice, and they will find a way to get this game to be played at a fast pace. The St. Louis Blues just don’t have enough offense to keep up with the Avalanche, and this game could get out of hand.
St. Louis is coming into this game as a desperate team, but it’s not going to be enough to allow them to win. Take the Colorado Avalanche -2.5 as they roll to a win over the St. Louis Blues.
