Colorado Avalanche at New Jersey Devils Betting Preview/Prop Picks

Tuesday night always seems to be a big night for the NHL, and there is a loaded schedule of games set to take place again. The New Jersey Devils host the Colorado Avalanche in one of these games, and this could be an interesting matchup.

Colorado comes into this game with 87 points on the year, and they have completely taken over the playoff race in the Western Conference. The Avalanche just recently suffered two straight losses, and that’s about how many they usually lose in a month.

New Jersey enters Tuesday night with just 45 points on the year, and this team will be watching the playoffs from home. The Devils have gone just 2-3 in the last five games, and they haven’t been playing well of late.

If the Devils are going to turn things around this season, then it is going to have to start at the defensive end. New Jersey is allowing over 3.5 goals per game this season, and that has created a number of issues for this team. 

The Devils have actually been solid on the penalty kill this season, killing off 82 percent of their miscues. New Jersey is going to need to slow down the pace on Tuesday night because they don’t have the talent to keep up.

Jesper Bratt has been terrific for the Devils, and he leads the way with 19 goals and 32 assists. The Devils have been able to score goals at times, but it’s going to take a complete effort to win this one. 

Avalanche Roll Over Devils in NJ

This matchup looks like a complete mismatch on paper, and it’s hard to see this showdown playing out any other way. There are always upsets or surprises in the National Hockey League, but it just doesn’t seem possible that it would happen in this game. 

Colorado is such a great offensive team, and they are taking on a team that really struggles to get defensive stops. The Avalanche are going to have a big night on offense on Tuesday, and that will be the difference in this game. 

New Jersey might be able to keep it close for a period, but it will be all Avalanche from that point on. Bet the Colorado Avalanche -1.5 as they roll to an impressive victory over a struggling New Jersey Devils squad.
