Cleveland Browns at Atlanta Falcons Betting Pick

Cleveland was one of the biggest surprise teams in the NFL a season ago, and they should be even better this season. The Browns have gone a perfect 2-0 so far in the preseason and are the favorites in this game.
Atlanta is 0-2 so far in the preseason, and this could become a trend for when the regular season begins. The Falcons still have some veteran talent, but this is a bit of a rebuilding phase that is taking place.
The Cleveland Browns are 5.5-point favorites in this matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.
Browns Can Be Explosive
The Cleveland Browns want to run the football, but they have also been taking some big shots in the passing game. Cleveland has scored 20 points per game so far in the preseason, and that has come against two pretty solid defenses.
Quarterback Baker Mayfield still has some questions to answer when the regular season begins, but he won’t be seeing time in this game. The Browns will be sticking to the run for much of this game, but that strategy could still lead to a big offensive game.
The defense for the Browns has given up just 26 total points in the preseason. That unit could be one of the best in the NFL during the 2021 season.
Falcons Can’t Get Stops
The Atlanta Falcons have been a bad defensive team over the last few seasons, and that unit has not shown much improvement in the preseason. Atlanta is allowing 30 points per game up to this point, and they are now facing a team that can do some damage on offense.
Atlanta should be able to score some points this season, especially if veteran quarterback Matt Ryan is able to stay healthy. The Falcons no longer have Julio Jones on the roster, but there is still enough talent to do some damage.
This Falcons team has some serious issues that it needs to correct, and this is the final chance to work on those things in the preseason.
Atlanta Covers, Cleveland Wins
This game feels like a complete mismatch on paper, but that doesn’t always seem to matter in the preseason. Atlanta is a team that is going to want to get some momentum for the regular season, and Cleveland will be resting starters.
Look for the Falcons to put up a good fight on Sunday night, and they are not going to make things easy on the Browns. Ultimately, Cleveland just has too much talent on the offensive side of the ball, and they will come away with a late score to win the game.
Take the Atlanta Falcons +5.5 on Sunday night, but it will be the Cleveland Browns that come away with another win.
