Thomas has won this event two times and is currently the defending champion. As the third-ranked golfer in the world rankings, he will definitely have something to say once he begins his rounds.

Johnson, the overall number one golfer in the world golf rankings, has been the most consistent when looking at the past 24 rounds of golf. He actually played well at this course before, in which he landed a course record of a 66. Unfortunately, he had to withdraw from the tournament after testing positive for the coronavirus.

Wolff, the 12th-ranked golfer in the world, is coming off a second-place-tie finish at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. He also came in second at the U.S Open, which shows he can compete with the best.

Winner of This Event

Johnson would have been a very appealing case to win this event. Over the last 24 rounds, his strokes gained and approach had been excellent, but he won't be teeing it up this week.

Since they are at a different course, Thomas will likely not repeat the success he had in South Korea. But, Thomas is certainly going to be in the running.

With Johnson out, look for Jon Rahm to take the title. He's been a consistent player for much of the year and will take advantage of the favorite's absence.
